LISD Holds Second Annual Online Social Media Town Hall Updating Community on its Transformation Process  
Back by popular demand – The Lewisville Independent School District (LISD) will host its second annual online social media town hall that will be streamed live on Tuesday, May 28, from 6-7 p.m. at www.LISD.net.

AVID Student Scholarship
This online application is for AVID students who would like to apply for the Harmon AVID Scholarship for college. The online application must be complete by Thursday May 23, 2013, 4:00pm. Student applicants must have passed all their classes and have no discipline issues. The top 5 candidates will be interviewed on Friday May 24, 2013. The winners of the scholarship will be announced on May 30, 2013 at the AVID Awards Ceremony. Click on this link to apply.

On May 9, Lewisville ISD (LISD) community members were invited into many classrooms at Lewisville High School (LHS) – which several LISD schools took over – to see first-hand how campuses are implementing LISD’s Strategic Design initiative in classrooms.

LISD Students Board the Green Line to Visit the Big D
Recently, AP Human Geography ninth-graders from FMHS, HHS 9, LHS Harmon, LHS Killough, MHS and TCHS hopped on the DART green line to explore Dallas – an experience which coincides with LISD’s Strategic Design vision for students to master academic and life management skills through authentic learning experiences.

Give 'em $5
In an effort to assist the West community, which was devastated by an explosion at a fertilizer plant last week, Lewisville ISD (LISD) has launched a "Give 'em $5" campaign asking staff, parents and students to donate $5 to help West ISD and first-responders' families who suffered a loss due to the explosion.

LHS Special Needs Students Enjoy Annual Grand Ball
March 23, the LHS Circle of Friends held its annual Grand Ball event, similar to prom, specifically for LHS, LHS Harmon and LHS Killough campus special needs students. Grand Ball makes the dream of prom reality for these students, giving them their own special evening catered specifically to their needs.

LHS Harmon Students Celebrate Black History Month
Students at LHS Harmon celebrated Black History Month on February 6 with a school-wide assembly entitled “Together in Unity – Let’s Celebrate.”
